Ukiah residents will get a chance next week to speak up about how police use certain equipment. The police department is hosting its annual military equipment hearing Wednesday at 2pm at City Council Chambers. It’s part of a state law that requires agencies to be transparent about how this equipment is used and approved. Officers will go over current policies and how the gear is being used in the field. Officials say they’re encouraging the public to show up and share their thoughts.
