Lakeport school leaders are meeting to consider possible staff layoffs. The school board scheduled a special meeting yesterday evening at the district office where officials are proposing cuts that could affect about nine teaching positions. Another proposal could eliminate around 14 classified staff jobs. Under state rules, districts must issue annual layoff notices by March 15.
