California is again opening applications for its Dream For All program, which helps first-generation buyers afford a home. The program can cover up to 20 percent of a home’s purchase price as a down payment through a shared appreciation loan. State officials say up to 200 million dollars could be available this year to help about two thousand buyers. Applicants must first get pre-approved through a participating lender before submitting paperwork. The application window closes March 16, with recipients chosen through a random selection process.
