Another sign of a slowdown in the wine industry. Jackson Family Wines is closing a large winery in Sonoma County. The company produces brands such as Kendall-Jackson, La Crema, and Cardinale. The family plans to hold on to the facility, which is able to produce 350,000 cases a year, has 600,000 gallons of wine storage, and can crush up to 1,500 tons of grapes a season. Other major producers, including Gallo in Napa County and sparkling wine maker Rack and Riddle in Healdsburg, have announced cutbacks in the past few months.
