Mendocino College is launching a new program, which it says will expand healthcare education. The school says its new Vocational Nursing program will transition from a previous program offered by Ukiah Adult School, and significantly reduce the cost. Nursing Instructor and LVN Program Director. Leslie Kline Udarbe calls it an investment in the community that will help make sure Mendocino and Lake Counties have enough skilled healthcare professionals to meet a growing need. Applications will be accepted through March 13, with the first group of students beginning coursework in August 2026. Total estimated program cost—including prerequisites, tuition, books, supplies, and postgraduation licensing fees—is around $6,000, which Udarbe says is one of the most affordable ways to get started in a profession that’s in high demand. mendocino.edu/LVN has information about how to apply.
