Lakeport voters will soon weigh in on a new 24.5 million dollar school bond. The school board voted unanimously Monday night to place the measure on the June 2 ballot, aiming to repair aging campuses, improve safety, and expand career education space. Because the district’s current bond is set to expire this summer, leaders say the new measure would keep tax rates about the same instead of causing a future jump. The final decision now heads to voters this spring.
