A changing of the guard is underway at the District Attorney’s Office as a new chief investigator steps in next month. Jim Schnitzius, has been selected to lead the Bureau of Investigations starting March 1, as Chief Investigator Andrew Alvarado heads into retirement. Schnitzius brings nearly three decades in law enforcement, including leadership assignments with the Sheriff’s Office and the DA’s Fort Bragg office.
