Governor Newsom’s approval rating is at its lowest since 2024. An Emerson College survey found 45 percent of voters disapprove of Newsom’s job leading the state. Top concerns, and those that voters say have worsened during Newsom’s tenure, are the economy, housing, especially high housing prices, gas prices, and insurance premiums. Among a thousand voters surveyed, more than half have considered leaving due to high living costs.
