There’s a leadership change at the agency that regulates California’s power companies. Gov. Gavin Newsom has tapped John Reynolds to lead the California Public Utilities Commission, with a focus on cutting utility bills and strengthening wildfire protections while keeping the state on track for 100 percent clean power by 2045. He’ll also oversee major grid upgrades and rate reforms as energy demands grow.
