For the first time in ten years, local students in Ukiah can train to become certified nursing assistants without leaving the county. A new medical training building opened in December and now offers a CNA program for adults and, for the first time, high school students. The four-month course is free through June and even includes help with things like transportation and childcare, which removes real barriers for working families. It also means medical professionals can renew key certifications close to home instead of driving out of town, a practical step toward building up the local health care workforce.
