A sprinkler system likely prevented a much bigger disaster at a Lakeport apartment complex Wednesday afternoon. Firefighters were called to Lakeview Terrace Apartments just after 1 pm and found a working fire inside one unit. Officials say the building’s sprinklers activated, slowing the flames and giving crews time to quickly contain the fire to one room. No one was hurt, and the unit was unoccupied at the time. Investigators are still working to determine what sparked the fire.
