A Mendocino County jury has convicted a Fort Bragg man in a cold case assault. Forty two year old William Hill was found guilty of assault with intent to commit rape and aggravated kidnapping. Prosecutors say DNA evidence collected during a separate 2022 conviction helped solve the 2019 case. Hill now faces the possibility of life in prison on the kidnapping charge. Additional court proceedings are scheduled for March 20.
