State wildlife officers say cannabis enforcement kept them busy throughout 2025. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife reports hundreds of environmental violations, 569 search warrants and major seizures that included more than 129,000 pounds of processed marijuana, nearly 878,000 plants and dozens of firearms. Much of that work included sites in Mendocino County and joint operations with other agencies. At the same time, the state pushed nearly 30 million dollars into restoration grants aimed at repairing environmental damage tied to cultivation.
