Lake County’s courts are getting a new judge, with a swearing-in ceremony set for later this week. John Langan officially joins the Superior Court bench Wednesday afternoon at the courthouse in Lakeport. He was appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom after spending nearly 18 years in the county district attorney’s office. Court leaders say his mix of criminal, civil, and family court experience makes him a strong fit as the court works through a backlog of cases. The ceremony is open to the public.
