Tense moments in Ukah after police got a call about a shirtless man waving a large knife and acting wild on North State Street. A crisis response team spent over an hour Monday night talking to Robert Bell, who police say was incoherent and appeared under the influence. It got worse as Bell started to cut himself and expose himself to officers while confronting them. Eventually, Bell moved aggressively toward the officers who were initially unable to subdue him with tasers, but after a brief foot chase and a struggle, they were eventually able to take Bell down and brought him to the hospital. After he was released, he was charged with several felonies. One officer was slightly injured during the struggle but was OK and later returned to duty.
