Cal Fire is planning a controlled burn on about 500 acres of the Shamrock Ranch southeast of Laytonville. The intermittent burns will be from 8 am to around 3 pm now through March 2nd. Cal Fire says the burn is part of significant work to meet state fire reduction goals under the state Fire Plan. During the burn on Shamrock Ranch, you may see smoke or see aircraft overhead. All of the work is weather-dependent and done under carefully controlled conditions.
