Look for things to get a little loud on purpose in parts of Lake County. The Sheriff’s Office is doing its annual siren test on Monday, February 2, at 11:00 AM. While the monthly tests usually only last 30 seconds, this one is a full three-minute blast to make sure everything is ready for fires, earthquakes, or other disasters. The tests will sound in Middletown, Anderson Springs, Cobb, Loch Lomond, Kelseyville Riviera, and Riviera West. While this is only a test, if you hear these sirens at any other time, take it seriously and look for info immediately. Just remember that hills, wind, or being indoors can sometimes muffle the sound—so don’t rely on the sirens alone to stay informed.
