The Army Corps of Engineers has signed off on what would be California’s biggest reservoir built since 1979. The Sites reservoir would cover 500,000 acres in nearby Colusa County and would provide water for up to 24 million people statewide. It would cost 6.8 billion dollars and has bipartisan support. If the State Reservoir Authority agrees, work could start as early as later this year and be completed by 2033.
