A community meeting is planned as Clearlake City leaders outline what’s been done so far about that huge sewage spill –and try to dispel rumors about the incident. Almost 3 million gallons of raw sewage spilled after a 16-inch main burst on January 11th near Robin Lane and Pond Road. Estimates put the affected area at around 300 acres. Testing on private wells continues–as dozens of residents continue to deal with the fallout from the spill. The county board of supervisors also discussed thenproblem at a meeting today with a request to move $ $500,000 from the county’s disaster response and recovery fund to the Lake County Sanitation District to pay for water tanks to provide a water supply until the well water in the area meets acceptable contaminant levels. The meeting starts at 6 pm at City Hall.
