Lake County is issuing new warnings as cleanup continues from a sewage spill that released nearly three million gallons of waste into the ground. Officials say the spill started January 11 when a major sewer line failed, and the affected area has since grown to roughly 357 acres. Groundwater testing has found dangerously high bacteria levels in some private wells, prompting health officials to advise residents to relocate if possible. County crews are sanitizing wells, delivering water, and providing showers and laundry services as testing resumes this week. A public town hall is scheduled for Wednesday night to update residents on the response and next steps.
