The Mendocino County Department of Transportation is taking part in a survey about the impact of sea level rise on County roads. The online community survey will evaluate how flooding and erosion could affect locally managed roads. They’d like to come away with a list of 5 priority roads for further study. They say that the study would be a crucial first step in planning potential roadway adaptation strategies, addressing Mendocino’s most pressing climate-related transportation challenges, and helping to protect coastal communities > officials say they’ve already seen more erosion and flooding on low-level roads–and that those issues will like get worse over time. The survey is open online through February 16th at mendconioSLRStudy.org
