
A community tip helped police stop a suspected drunk driver during peak drive time in Lakeport yesterday. Police say the vehicle was reported leaving the area of Bevins Street toward Lakeport Boulevard. Police say the driver showed signs of impairment, failed field sobriety tests, and later recorded a blood alcohol level of .18 The driver was arrested for DUI and the vehicle was towed from the scene. Officers credit the quick call from the public with helping prevent a potentially dangerous crash.
