ICE deportations surged in California as 2025 went on.  That is according to data compiled by ICE and processed by a UC Berkeley Law School initiative.  At least 8,250 people were deported during the first 9 months of the year.  From July through September, ICE was averaging more than 1,500 deportations per month.  That is a more than 200 percent increase compared with the first three months of the year.
