California’s wildfire agencies are extending a long-standing partnership aimed at faster and more effective fire response. The U.S. Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region and Cal Fire have renewed their California Fire Master Agreement for another five years. The deal allows crews to work side by side across boundaries and share resources when fires break out. Officials say sending the closest available firefighters first helps protect lives, property, and natural resources.
