The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office is alerting the public about scammers pretending to be law enforcement. Officials say the callers claim there’s a warrant for your arrest and demand money for bail, often through phone calls or emails. Deputies stress they will never ask for payment or personal information over the phone or through internet links. Residents who believe they’ve been targeted are encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office directly.
