A special election could be coming after the death of a member of Congress in Northern Calif. Congressman Doug LaMalfa was the representative of the First Congressional District which used to be Mike Thompson’s district back in the day. The two had worked closely on legislation together. LaMalfa died Monday. He was taken to the hospital and had emergency surgery but died there. The Coroner from Butte County is investigating. The Republican was in Congress for nearly a decade and had been a rice farmer. No word so far from the Governor on when the special election would be.
