The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office has identified a woman who was washed out to sea at MacKerricher State Park. Bystanders were able to pull 77-year-old Diane Witig of Fort Bragg out of the surf after the wave knocked her off a rock, but she died at the scene. The Sheriff’s office calls it a tragic accident.
