Four men spent their Christmas in the Lake County Jail after they were busted early Tuesday, after allegedly hitting multiple stores across Mendocino and Lake counties. It started around 3 a.m Tuesday When cops say someone broke into Forks Ranch Market in Ukiah, making off with lottery tickets, cash, and other stuff. Then, within the next hour or so, they say the same crew apparently hit Upper Lake Grocery and a Dollar General in Nice, plus at least one other Ukiah business. Lake County deputies later pulled over their vehicle near Clearlake Oaks because the license plate was partially blocked. When they stopped the car and looked inside, they say they found a trove of stolen goods—tons of cash, cigarettes, cigars, lottery tickets, phone chargers, and even burglary tools like a crowbar. The four –from the Sacramento and Bay Areas–were booked into the Lake County Jail on 150,000 bond. Police say it took cooperation between several agencies, including the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office, Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Ukiah Police, and even the California Lottery. Most of the stolen property has been recovered and is being returned to the businesses.
