More than a thousand California State University employees are preparing to strike after rejecting one-time bonuses in place of raises. Skilled trade workers represented by the Teamsters Union approved a strike authorization vote last week. The union represents about 1,100 CSU employees across 22 campuses, with more than 90 percent voting in favor of a strike. CSU officials say bonuses were offered instead of raises because of ongoing budget constraints.
