With heavy rain still falling, local officials are reminding Mendocino County residents to take steps now to protect homes and businesses from flooding. Sandbag stations are open across the county, though most require people to bring their own bags and shovels. Several locations are offering self-serve sand, including sites in Ukiah, Redwood Valley, Willits, and Laytonville. Officials say a little preparation now could save a lot of damage as wet conditions continue.
