US Agriculture Secretary Brook Rollins is urging the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to reject PG & E’s proposal to give up its license for the Potter Valley Hydro project. Rollins says the removal of the project’s dams would have devastating consequences for agriculture–and would affect several USDA projects in the Potter Valley. Her comments came at the end of a public comment period on the proposal on Friday afternoon. PG&E says it will continue to work with interested stakeholders — and that it remains confident that the FERC will eventually agree with plans to give up its license, and what comes next.
