A Willits man has been found guilty of attempted murder and assault following an attack outside a local casino. Prosecutors say the incident happened in March near the Sherwood Valley Casino, where the victim was seriously injured. Police later arrested the suspect after finding him hiding inside a casino hotel room. A hearing later this month will determine whether the conviction triggers California’s three strikes law, which could lead to a sentence of up to 39 years to life.
