It’s almost time for parents to enroll their kids in Kindergarten for the next school year in Ukiah. The school district is signing up for transitional kindergarten and kindergarten students for the 26-27 school years starts January 6th and runs to March 31st. For the Grace Hudson School, enrollment is from January 6th to February 20th to allow for a lottery. Parents will get their children’s admission status there on March 5th and 6th. Transitional Kindergarten is for children turning 4 on or before September 1, 2026. Kindergarten is for children turning 5 on or before September 1, 2026. The district says the early sign-ups help them make accurate budget and staff projections before the primary hiring season for Education starts in the spring. Officials say that planning will help them find–and keep–the best available teachers, well before the first school bells ring in August.
