The Willits City Council is taking up a new street vending ordinance tonight that would spell out where food trucks and sidewalk vendors can operate. The update brings the city in line with California’s SB 946 and adds fresh rules on distance from schools, major intersections and busy spots like Main Street. It also sets safety guidelines to keep walkways clear and ensure vendors follow fire code when cooking. The council could finalize the ordinance at its 6:30 p.m. meeting.
