
California is finishing the year with a big jump in its law-enforcement muscle, having graduated 780 new CHP officers in 2025. Gov. Gavin Newsom says the wave of recruits shows more people are stepping up as interest in CHP careers skyrockets. The cadets spent months training in everything from crash investigations to emergency driving before fanning out to CHP offices across the state. Officials say the expanded force puts the agency in a stronger position heading into next year’s public-safety push.
