Ukiah is planning a community meeting to talk about plans to improve School Street downtown., The city says the meeting on December 11th will offer a chance to provide thoughts on proposals for the corridor, including improved sidewalks, parking, and traffic circulation, along with amenities like lighting, public art, furniture, and trees. Those discussions started last December with a CalTrans grant to look at School Street between Clay to Henry Streets. There’s no funding for the improvements yet. The forum on December 11th is from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Ukiah Valley Civic Center. There will also be a walking tour of the street BEFORE the forum from 3:45 to 5:00 to give an opportunity to look at conditions now and what could eventually change.
