Lakeport police have charged a man suspected of drunk driving, and another man who officers say was also drunk and interfering with the investigation. It all started with a call for a crash involving a parked car at Main Street and Oak Knoll Avenue on Wednesday afternoon. When officers found the driver nearby, they say he showed signs of impairment. While cops were speaking to him, another man who wasn’t even involved showed up, and police say he, too, appeared drunk. The bystander was arrested when he refused to step back from the scene after several warnings. As for the suspected impaired driver, officers say his blood alcohol level was almost three times the legal limit. Both men were booked into the county jail.
Police are looking for a woman from Plumas County who was last seen near Upper Lake. They say Cheryl Taddei’s last known location was near the roundabout intersection of Highway 20 and Highway 29 in Upper Lake on November 19th, where she got out of a vehicle during an argument. Taddei was reportedly wearing a t-shirt, a blue denim skirt, and black slip-on shoes, and was carrying a duffel bag, a backpack, and several plastic grocery bags. She also had a small tan Chihuahua with her. She is white, 5 feet 6 inches tall, and weighs 125 pounds, with green eyes and brown hair, and has several distinctive tattoos. Her family in Plumas County says they are worried because of the time it’s been since they last heard from her. You can get in touch with law enforcement if you have any information that might help find her.

Police have identified a woman from Ukiah shot and killed in Cloverdale by a man who they say later killed himself after a standoff. Sonoma Sheriff’s deputies say they found Tiffany Tyrell with gunshot wounds on Saturday afternoon, and say she had been murdered. Police later found the suspect, Lawrence Cassidy, hiding in an outbuilding in Santa Rosa. He barricaded himself as officers tried to arrest him and then apparently committed suicide. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Tyrell’s family with funeral costs.

The USGS says a series of small earthquakes that have rattled an area near The Geysers over the past few days probably doesn’t indicate any major quake is coming soon. No damage from a quake reported on Thanksgiving Day –a 3.9 magnitude in a remote area 15 miles east of Cloverdale, just over the Sonoma County line. One theory is that the many geothermal operations in the area contribute to the skating as the hot steam causes the surrounding rock to expand and sometimes crack from the stress
