Three men have been arrested and charged with breaking into two markets in Covelo. Deputies say surveillance video and other evidence from a burglary early Monday morning at the Redwood Market led to the arrests at a home on Pomo Way in Covelo. Detectives say a warrant also turned up evidence connected to another break-in at Keith’s Market. Doran Lincoln, William Davis, and Orion Dennis –all from Covelo–are in the Mendocino County jail on $15,000 bond.

Changes are coming for street vendors in Willits. The City Council has taken the first step to amend its current street vending ordinance to set guidelines about where those mobile carts and sidewalk vendors can operate. City officials say they want to make the rules clear and consistent and to make sure they fit in with existing businesses. Among the changes, only two vendors can operate per block in commercial and industrial zones, and won’t be allowed at all in residential zones. Carts will have to be moved after they close and will have to comply with other rules about where they can be set up . The council has passed the first reading of the amendment and will finalize it at its next meeting on December 10th

A well-known restaurant in Fort Bragg has new owners. The Wharf on the Noyo Harbor Waterfront has been sold to the Beachcomber Group, which has plans to take advantage of the building’s location and layout, including its panoramic water views. Previous owner Jim Hurst says the beachcomber group is already well established in Fort Bragg and is the perfect buyer> The Wharf has been a part of the waterfront since the 1950s’s

A major endorsement for State Senator Mike Guire’s campaign for Congress. Some of California’s most influential labor organizations — representing nearly one million workers — are getting behind McGuire as he kicks off his run for the newly redrawn first district that will include Lake and Mendocino Counties after the 22026 election. McGuire would be the favorite if he gets to the general election against incumbent Congressman Doug LaMalfa because the expanded district tilts heavily democratic.
