CalFresh SNAP benefits for November are being delayed because of the Federal Government Shutdown. Officials say that the delay will affect millions of people who receive money on their SNAP cards. The Lake County Social Services Department says if you need food, the county’s food banks are prepared to help. You can find a local food bank on the website calfoodbanks.org or on the county Facebook page. CalWORKs benefits for November are not impacted.

Mendocino County is considering applying for state block grants totaling almost 500,000 dollars–and they’d like to hear your opinion on their plan. The money would go to two projects. The Centro Negotio Spanish Language Microenterprise Technical Assistance Project, and the county would use $379,000 for its small business loan program. The Board of Supervisors will hold a public meeting to outline the grant process and get input on the plans to use the money.
