The Clearlake City Council is considering the budget for the next fiscal year. Members will have a budget workshop on Thursday as part of the regular council meeting. The workshop will include public hearings on the budget, appropriations for the coming year, and the 2025 -26 fee schedule. The budget draft calls for just over 81 million dollars in revenue, with 83.1 million in spending. Also on the agenda, several demolition contracts and an agreement on a new contract with the city employees’ union. The meeting starts at 5 PM at the council chambers at City Hall.
You’ll have a chance to comment on Ukiah’s proposal to annex several areas currently outside city limits. The Ukiah Valley Reorganization plan would take in some unincorporated property Willow area to the south of the city and part of Millview to the north. Some residents are worried about the annexation’s effect on the county budget, with the county losing money while the city gains about 15 percent more. Supporters say the annexation would make it easier to get approval for projects in that area. City employees will be on hand at the public meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ukiah Valley Conference Center. The city website has more on the annexation proposals.
