Over the weekend, investigators from Fort Bragg PD and Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search of a 24-acre property on Dorffi Rd, south of Fort Bragg. Investigators were assisted by the MCSO Search and Rescue team and two volunteer cadaver K9 teams from Crescent City Police Department. It’s part of an ongoing effort to locate any information that would lead authorities to Brittany Adkins, who was reported missing in November 2020 by
her family. They believe she was last seen in the Fort Bragg area. In all, fifteen Search and Rescue members, four FBPD officers, an MCSO detective, and two Crescent City PD volunteer cadaver dog teams participated in the hours’ long search of the rugged terrain, some of which was completely inaccessible. Despite their efforts, no evidence was located. The investigation remains open and ongoing.

California residents who want to purchase an electronic bike can apply to get a $2,000 voucher from the state toward that goal due to a popular incentive program. The California E-Bike Incentive Project, sponsored by the California Air Resources Board, aims to make e-bikes more affordable for lower-income residents who want to use their cars less. In order to apply for a voucher, income-eligible residents will need to join a virtual waiting room at ebikeincentives.org between 5 and 6 p.m. tonight to be entered into a randomized queue to access online applications. The Press Democrat says up to 1,000 applications will be approved.
