It won’tbe long until the Fourth of July–and that means–fireworks. Lakeport has opened the application window for non-profit groups who are qualified to ask for a permit to sell safe and sane fireworks. They’ll have to be by April 30th. The applicants have to be non-profits of more than 20 people who live in or work for the city or are owners or operators of establishments in the city limits. Up to four permits will go out–if there are more, priority will go to non-profits that have done this before. There are lots of other rules and regulations, so you can check those out on the Lakeport City website or by contacting the city clerk’s office. The sale is a major fundraiser for the organizations selected.
