Lake County is looking for a new public health director. The board of supervisors will consider a temporary replacement at its meeting tomorrow to take over from Dr Noemi Doohan, who is resigning at the end of the month. To fill the job for now, the council will have to approve a six-month contract with Dr Anju Goel. She will be paid $49,860. Officials say without a temporary health director, the county’s vital records and immunization services would be affected. The regular meeting of the board is tomorrow at 9 am. The Lakeport City Council will look at its goals for the next year at this week’s regular meeting. A discussion about strategic planning is one of the agenda items for Tuesday evening’s session. The workshop will include both city-wide and departmental goals. The rest of the agenda is routine. You can check it out on the city website. The meeting starts at 6 pm at the city hall.
CHP is investigating a fatal crash in Lakeport. It happened just before noon on Sunday on Lakeshore Boulevard at Rainbow Rd. Two vehicles–said to have been involved. There’s no word on any other injuries or the circumstances.
