The Lake County Sheriff’s office is investigating the death of a man who was stabbed in Kelseyville in late January but they don’t think the stabbing had anything to do with his death last month Lake County News reports Alfonzo Hernandez Guzman was stabbed in Pioneeer Park on January 24th after an argument, He was flown to an out of county hospital for treatment. The other person involved in the argument–identified as Anthony Black–was arrested that night and charged with attempted homicide, assault and other charges. The Sheriff’s office says Hernandsez Guzman was out of the hospital and back in Pioneer Park on February 24th, when he died–but reportedly had no signs of an assault. The cause of his death hasn’t been determined. Anthony Lee, who was charged with the stabbing, will go on trial in April but won’t face additional charges for Hernandez-Guzman’s death.
The Mendocino County Sheriff’s office has yet to identify a person whose body was found in the Albion area. Search and rescue teams were made in the area of a reported missing person on Tuesday morning. Foul play is not suspected, but an autopsy will be done.
Authorities are investigating the discovery of a body found in Clear Lake. Lake County News The body found at the Bella Laguna beach area off Golf Avenue in Clearlake on Tuesday afternoon. No word yet on the ID.
The Lake County Board of Supervisors is looking for volunteers to serve on the County’s Public Defender Oversight Committee. The committee reviews the County Public Defender program and its performance. Its bylaws say it is made up of two members of the public and one attorney appointed by the Board of Supervisors.
