California is awarding millions of dollars to help support access into the state’s cannabis industry. Officials announced that the 18-point-four-million dollars in grant funding will go to 18 local jurisdictions to promote "equitable economic opportunities for local applicants and licensees." According to the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, the grant will also help reduce the illicit cannabis market by bringing more people into the legal marketplace. Recipients of the funding include Mendocino, Sonoma and Humboldt counties.

The Lake County Record Bee says College & Career Day for Kelseyville High School was successful for all involved. More than 400 students of all grades participated and during the event, students had direct access to representatives from over 30 agencies, including universities, educational programs, skilled trades, healthcare, the military, law enforcement, local businesses, government agencies, and more. It gave students the tools they need to help plan their future academic and career pathways, and reinforced the importance of post-secondary planning.

Next week’s City of Fort Bragg’s regular meeting of the Finance and Administration Committee, scheduled for Wednesday is cancelled. It will be held on Wednesday afternoon, April 9 at 4 p.m. instead
