The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is planning a test of the county’s warning sirens next week. The three-minute test on Monday at 11 AM will include sirens in Middletown, Anderson Springs, Cobb, Loch Lomond, Kelseyville Riviera, and Riviera West. Monthly siren tests are conducted on the first Monday of every month at 11 a.m. From March to January, these tests last 30 seconds. Notifications are sent out before each test via LakeCoAlerts and Nixle. These tests, and the upcoming full-length test, are part of the county’s ongoing emergency preparedness efforts for events such as wildfires, earthquakes, and other potential hazards. Authorities if you hear a warning outside of a scheduled test, it is crucial to stay alert and seek additional information. Sirens may not always be heard due to factors such as terrain, background noise, being indoors, or distance from the sirens.
