Filling up this weekend for the holiday trip will cost less than it did last Christmas. AAA reports the average price per gallon for regular in Lake County is $4.36 a gallon–in Mendocino County $4.37. Both are a few cents higher than the state average of $4.31. Last year, the state average was around .25 cents a gallon more. California, as usual, has the highest price..cheapest..not far from the oil well in Oklahoma at $2.58 for the same stuff you use. For the first time, AAA is also watching the price to charge an EV. California on average costs 37 cents a kilowatt-per-hour–nationally, it’s about the same.
A man from San Francisco has died after a crash in West Navarro. CHP says the crash happened around 9:45 Wednesday night when the driver lost control and hit a tree on Route 128. He was pronounced dead at the scene.The police don’t think he was impaired, but they’re still looking into what happened. They’re not releasing his name until they can tell his family.
Insurance company SafeCo, which is part of Liberty Mutual, is pulling back from California. They’re not offering new policies for rental and condo customers starting January 1st. If you already have a policy, you’re good until 2026. LiMu says they’re still in California, just scaling back
