Still no sign of a Fort Bragg teen who has been missing since Saturday. 15-year-old Naomi Mora, also known as Roy, was last seen Saturday around 6pm near Whipple and Oak in Fort Bragg on the way to see the Lighted Truck Parade with friends. Several agencies are searching including the US Coast Guard and Mendocino County Search and Rescue which bright out dog teams on Tuesday. Fort Bragg Police have pictures of the teen on their social media along with a timeline of places they were seen Saturday in hopes that residents will check home video surveillance cameras for any clues. Fort Bragg’s Police Chief told the City Council the police department’s Care Response Unit has been in the schools interviewing school officials and friends of the teen.

Pacific Gas & Electric is warning about scams being on the upswing this time of year. They say even before the holidays this year customers have lost more than $334,000 to scammers specifically targeting PG&E customers. Lead investigator Matt Foley emphasizes PG&E will never contact you an hour before cutting off your power for non-payment and definitely not ask you to pay them with a prepaid debit card, Zelle or Venmo. And this is not just for homes – PG&E says small and medium-sized businesses are also a target, preying on business owners’ sense of urgency this time of year.

Overnight drivers get a one-day reprieve from the long detour around the closure of the Jack Peters Creek Bridge on Highway 1 between Fort Bragg and Mendocino. Caltrans says the work that was scheduled for tonight has been postponed but is still happening Thursday night with the bridge closed from 10pm Thursday until 6am Friday unless there is some major weather. Caltrans has been working for months on upgrades to the bridge with a wider deck and new railings. Meanwhile officials are encouraging you to use the official detour that Caltrans will offer because all the other ways around are remote and sometimes tricky with GPS not reliable on the backroads.

While the commercial Dungeness crab season remains closed until at least January 1 for the whole state due to the risk to migrating whales getting caught in the gear as well as high levels of domoic acid, the recreational fishery for a portion of northern California has been reopened. California Fish and Wildlife says testing done Monday showed safe levels of domoic acid in crab from Eureka to the Oregon border. The recreational season in Mendocino County opened last month. Meanwhile more rounds of testing are set for December 15 and December 20 to determine whether the rest of the recreational and all of the commercial fisheries can open or be delayed until January 15.

Lake County is working toward the next hazard mitigation plan which is how they figure out what needs to be done to reduce the damage from disasters like fires and storms. The County wants your input as they put together the next plan which covers several years and partially dictates how FEMA helps. They want you to take a survey which you can find on social media for Lake County, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Lake County OES and the cities of Clearlake and Lakeport. Then on Thursday night there is a public information meeting on Zoom. That link is on all the social media as well.
