It’s a Red Flag warning though Thursday afternoon. The windy and dry conditions have raised wildfire concerns and led to possible PG&E public safety power outages. A few dozen customers east of Willits are reported to be out, with service scheduled to be restored by 6 PM. PG&E says they are working with local election officials at more than 7,000 polling locations in PG&E’s service area as well as 48 tabulation centers and are staying in contact to be able to respond to any power issues or needs that may arise. The polling place at the Geothermal Visitor Center in Lake County is in an area with a planned outage, but not until after the polls close. They have standby generators there just in case.

Voters are heading to the polls today as the 2024 campaign. comes to an end. State-wide, about a third of eligible voters have used the early vote option. In Lake County, the number is much lower–25 percent, while Mendocino County has a 39 percent return rate so far, Polls are open until 7. If you are in line then, you’ll get to vote.

CHP is investigating a crash that killed a bicyclist near Middletown. Rescue crews were called to Rt 175 just after 5 on Monday, where the rider died at the scene,

Veterans Day is Monday and there are plans to put up flags along the roads leading to Lake County Cemeteries. The flags being flown once covered the caskets of service members. The flag poles are going up at the Lower Lake Cemetery, Hartley Cemetery in Lakeport, Kelseyville Cemetery, and Upper Lake Cemetery. Volunteers are needed to put up the flags d Monday morning between 6:30 and 8:00 and to take them down and respectfully fold them in the afternoon. The local group Avenue of The FLags is handling the patriotic displays.
