A Middletown man will stay behind bars for now after a preliminary hearing on a long list of charges related to a domestic violence assault had to be rescheduled. Justin Simon Lord was arrested August 27 for an August 8 incident in which police allege he broke into his ex’s home and attacked her, leading her husband to shoot Lord in the leg. Lake County News reports on Thursday a judge granted a delay for Lord’s defense attorney who said they got a large amount of evidence this week to pour over and need more time. The DA’s Office has charged Lord with burglary, inflicting corporal injury on the mother of his children, assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly hitting the woman with a metal rod and threatening her husband with a knife, making criminal threats and much more, for some of which he has previous convictions. He was ordered held without bail.
